Which trademark databases should be checked? What does that mean?

Depending on the tariff, FlyingNames checks all name suggestions on potential trademarks. Thus you receive from FlyingNames no identical brand name suggestions that are already protected. When ordering, you can select in which countries you would like trademarks to be searched for.

Explanations of the designations for the trademark batabases in the selection:

EU (EUIPO) concerns European Union Trade Marks. These are trademarks that are protected throughout the whole of the EU. More information about Union Trade Marks.

International Registrations (WIPO) are trademarks that can be protected in different countries (also throughout the whole of the EU). Therefore we also check these IR-brands for your selected countries. More information about IR-brands.

This is an example of a selection, if you would like trademarks with protection in the United Kingdom to be researched. Select here: EU (EUIPO) + International Registrations (WIPO) + United Kingdom.

Thus all trademarks that could have some kind of protection in the United Kingdom are checked; these are not just national trademarks but can also be pan-European trademarks or even international trademarks, who have extended their protection into the United Kingdom.

Which domains are checked?

By default, we perform a check of six domain extensions (TLDs) for each proposed name. If nothing is specified, we check the TLDs that we consider most useful, such as .com, .net, .org, .eu, .io, or .de.

However, we can also check any other desired domain extension at no extra charge. Meanwhile, there is a large selection of possibilities for a suitable domain. If we discover during the domain search that there is something unfavorable behind a domain (e.g. offensive content, direct competitor sites, etc.), we usually do not suggest the name at all.

If a certain domain ending like .com is supposed to be available in an identical form for all name suggestions (i.e. not only for purchase or without content), then you can specify this extra when ordering. This is connected with a surcharge since the effort is then substantially higher until we have found all names.

How long does it take until the names are ready?

The normal duration of a name search is 15 business days from receipt of your fully completed naming questionnaire and payment. We aim to deliver within this period or possibly earlier; however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so. The reason is that our quality standards are high and some naming projects need more time due to the special topic, the requirements or a large number of opposing registered trademarks that we find during our researches.

What happens once an order is placed?

Once you have submitted your order, you are forwarded to the billing page where you settle your invoice with your selected payment method. Once payment is complete, you will receive our special naming questionnaire. Once youve completed the questionnaire in full, we will start the name search, provided that we have no further questions.
